Building Expedia's first data visualization design system

Expedia had no standards for data visualization, creating inconsistent experiences that were impossible to maintain at scale. Partnering with a principal engineer, I led the creation of the company's first data visualization design system, enabling teams across the organization to build data-heavy experiences consistently and efficiently.

Redesigning how hoteliers act on their performance, with GenAI-powered coaching

180,000 independent hoteliers relied on Expedia to understand how their business was performing. Conflicting metrics and fragmented views left them unable to trust what they were seeing, let alone act on it. I led the redesign to restore that trust and point them toward their next best step.

Building HEROES, a framework for structured design reviews

Most design reviews are unstructured conversations that default to visual opinions. I created HEROES, a six-lens framework for repeatable design reviews, adopted across multiple teams at Expedia. I'm now turning it into a Claude skill making structured design thinking accessible to anyone without a design team around them.

Helping hoteliers take control of their organic search visibility

Expedia shifted its strategy to reward hotels that deliver exceptional guest experiences, but hoteliers had no way of knowing what that meant in practice. I designed a scoring system that made Expedia's expectations transparent, showing hoteliers where they stood, what drove their visibility, and exactly what to improve. As hoteliers acted on these insights, guest satisfaction increased by 17%.
